Much of the world celebrated the start of the Obama presidency today, though not a group of Iranian Muslims who thought it would be more fun to gather outside the former U.S. embassy in Tehran and burn a picture of the new president. Or perhaps I'm wrong, and burning effigies is how they like to party over there.
Whatever the case, Obama is already trying to reach out to the Middle East, saying "To the Muslim world, we seek a new way forward, based on mutual interest and mutual respect." However, this is no easy task when there are a good number of religious fanatics who want to convert or kill their enemy. And unfortunately, I'm talking about both sides here.
